E.M.O.T.I.O.N. LEADERSHIP MADEIRA is an advanced training course designed to strengthen teachers’ and school leaders’ ability to manage emotions, relationships and classroom climate with clarity, consistency and confidence.


The course focuses on emotional leadership in education, helping participants understand how emotions influence behaviour, communication, decision-making and learning environments.


Using coaching strategies, practical classroom scenarios and simple regulation techniques, participants learn how to lead emotionally complex situations in schools while maintaining stability, authority and empathy.

Day 1 – Emotional Leadership in Education (Indoor)

  • Introduction to emotional leadership in schools

  • How emotions shape behaviour and learning

  • Teacher as emotional regulator of the classroom

  • Understanding relational dynamics in education


Day 2 – Field Trip: Emotional Dynamics in Real Contexts (Outdoor Learning – Madeira)

  • Observing group emotions and interactions in natural settings

  • Leadership behaviours under real-life conditions

  • Stress, cooperation and conflict in group dynamics

  • Reflection: transferring insights to school environments


Day 3 – Emotional Intelligence in Action (Indoor)

  • Social and Emotional Intelligence applied to teaching practice

  • Emotional awareness and self-regulation

  • Reading emotional signals in students

  • Preventing escalation through early intervention


Day 4 – Communication, Relationships & Trust (Indoor)

  • Building strong teacher-student relationships

  • Communication styles in classroom leadership

  • Trust, consistency and authority balance

  • Managing emotional responses in interactions


Day 5 – Conflict, Inclusion & Difficult Situations (Indoor)

  • Conflict Management in school contexts

  • Handling emotionally charged situations

  • Inclusion through emotional understanding

  • Managing challenging behaviours without escalation


Day 6 – Integration, Leadership Plan & Certification (Indoor + Closing Practice)

  • Designing an emotional leadership action plan for schools

  • Case studies and reflective practice

  • Peer coaching and feedback

  • Emotional regulation tools recap

  • Certification ceremony

Course participants will receive training and engage in exercises designed to develop their skills as trainers. The provision of additional materials or resources will be determined based on the course structure and the instructor’s approach to meeting the learning objectives​​
